Official presentation of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

“Audentes Fortuna Iuvat – Fortune favors the brave”

Six years later, fans of the Czech developer Warhorse and the game Kingdom Come: Deliverance received official confirmation of the release of the second part, which is also due out this year. We have to admire the developers and publishers for not trying to lure us in with some distant promises years in advance, but instead showing us the game for the first time when it is probably already in a very advanced stage of development.

The first part of its time received relatively mixed reviews around the world (72% on OpenCritic), but these deducted points were mainly for the technical condition at the time of release, and not for the game itself – on the contrary, it was praised by almost everyone. for the plot, realistic concept and attention to detail. As an elaborate role-playing game with realistic elements almost bordering on a 15th century life simulator, the game may not have been for everyone, but it offered an experience like no other for fans. Even then, it attracted the attention of the world’s media and, ultimately, millions of players when it managed to sell more than 6 million copies. Literally the entire gaming world followed the presentation of the new game with great interest.

The presentation of the game in the form of a pre-recorded documentary was designed at the highest level and literally breathed with a festive atmosphere, professionalism, as well as real enthusiasm and pride of all participants. Members of the development team and the main actors spoke about their intentions and impressions of the new game on camera against the impressive backdrop of the Church of St. Barbara in Kutná Hora. Also thanks to this environment, an absolutely mind-blowing sample of music from the second part, again composed by composer Jan Walta, stood out. We were especially fascinated by the singing used in the song performed.

According to the creators, it was said that the second part took so long to create, including because they managed to fully realize the original vision, which to a certain extent they were not able to realize in the first part. According to them, the new game is not only significantly larger and longer, but also offers even deeper ways to influence your character and the world around you, including an even more improved and in-depth combat system. Additionally, the story enters a significantly more exciting phase as we now move from the troubles of villagers during marauding raids to a regular war of kings. Since the creation of the first part, the Warhorse studio has managed to secure the support of a global publisher, as well as increase the total number of developers, which should be noticeable in the final game.

According to the developers, the game is not only significantly larger, but also offers even deeper opportunities to influence your character and the world around you, including an improved and enriched combat system. Moreover, the story is entering a much more exciting phase.

So if you liked the first game, it is likely that the second part will not disappoint you. And if you haven’t tried the first one at all, now might be a good opportunity to finally fix that – you can do it not only on computers and consoles, but also on the go thanks to the recent port to the Nintendo Switch, where the game also has a Czech dub. Considering how many years the authors worked on the new game and how long they delayed its announcement, there is also reason to hope that the release of a game in a problematic technical condition will not happen again.
