April is the month when news about the annual gaming fair Gamescom in Cologne begins to spread. Like last year, the first message was published by the Japanese company Nintendo, but this time it was rather unpleasant.
While last year Nintendo announced it would be returning to Gamescom after four years, it will skip the event again this year. This was stated by a company representative to the German magazine GamesWirtschaft.
Last year, in addition to several games, the Japanese company also unveiled the successor to the Switch hybrid console behind closed doors, or so several reliable sources claimed. However, the institution will not visit Cologne this year.
It’s hard to predict what Nintendo’s plans are for the upcoming console. It has still not been officially announced, and although, according to earlier information from insiders, it was supposed to be released this fall, now, apparently, it is planned only for the first quarter of next year.
