Pirates of the Caribbean is a series that has largely fallen from its peak in recent years. However, from a game perspective, she never had much of a chance to excel. But that’s exactly what was promised from the action adventure film “Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned”. A stand-alone story set somewhere before the events of the film saga, in which we will sail the Caribbean as James Sterling in order to make a name for himself. Typical pirate plot, isn’t it?
But the gameplay was already more interesting. An open world, a combat system based on timing, choices that determine the behavior of NPC characters towards us and the development of certain events, a customizable ship and all that piracy. At E3 2009, the game received mostly positive reviews.. The problem, however, was that Propaganda Games was still working on Tron: Evolution at the time. Disney, who owned them, decided to lay off over 100 people at the studio as part of a restructuring, meaning they could only focus on Tron. And, unfortunately, it did not achieve such results as expected, which subsequently led to the complete closure of the development division.
