Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake begins to resemble the fate of Skull and Bones – INDIAN

When it was introduced at the beginning of the 2020/2021 academic year Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake, so on the one hand, players were delighted with the return of the legendary classic. On the other hand, they couldn’t help but notice the strange quality of the first trailer, which clearly didn’t live up to the standards of a AAA game. Players especially complained about the graphics and animation..

Then, in December/December 2020, the game’s release was delayed by two months to give the developers the time needed to meet fan expectations. But it was clear to everyone that two months was not enough time for a “unique visual treatment,” as Ubisoft called it.

This was confirmed in February/February 2021, with another delay, and then in October/October the same year. Finally, in May 2022, it was decided to move development from the Indian studios Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai to Ubisoft Montreal. The experienced team that gave birth to the Sands of Time trilogy and the series Assassin’s Creed (from 2007), Watch Dogs (from 2014 to 2016) or Far Cry (from 2005 to 2019) had to build on the basis of its Indian counterpart.

This had to change. Insider Gaming has just learned the details. According to them, the game is completely redesigned and in Montreal started de facto from scratch. They took a “more realistic approach” and provided a complete graphics overhaul, new animations and mechanics for combat and parkour, and much more.

I wonder what Yuri Lowenthal is no longer courting Prince, although we heard it in the promotional trailer for the original version of the remake. It’s unclear what happened or why Ubisoft made this decision. Insider Gaming also has footage that they are prohibited from publishing. But they lack textures, assets and other things. This implies early stage of development. In other words: release is still a long way off.

Also, doesn’t this remind you of the infamous Skull and Bones, which was supposed to be Ubisoft’s first AAA game? I hope the Sands of Time remake doesn’t end up like this.

Let’s remember that the platformer was released earlier this year. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, which wasn’t bad at all. The authors of Dead Cells are now preparing for Ubisoft Robber Prince of Persia. This is a new roguelike that will continually receive free updates and evolve based on community feedback. With that in mind, the game should be coming to Steam Early Access later this year.
