Vice President leaves Microsoft after 26 years Karim Choudhury. He has led the team for the past two years. New Xbox Technologies and worked with him on the use of artificial intelligence in video games.
Choudhury has been with Microsoft since 1998. Much of his career has been focused on the cloud. In 2019 he was at the origins Xbox Cloud Gamingthen known as the project xCloud. He also made a strong case for the backwards compatibility feature.
Members of the Xbox Emerging Technologies team are moving to the Devices and Ecosystem division, led by Vice President Roan Sons. A new Xbox Experiences and Platforms team is also being created to improve the experience for players across platforms.
This is the next step in Xbox’s restructuring, although Choudhury’s departure was intended to be more of a coincidence than part of any long-term plans. The first major changes to Microsoft Gaming took place in the fall. Since the beginning of April, the management of the gaming division has been working in an updated form. It narrowed down to some executives and executives at Activision Blizzard.
