It’s unclear what kind of console Microsoft has in store for developers. Even Microsoft’s plans are unknown – from last year’s leaked materials it seemed that it was preparing an update to the Xbox Series X along the lines of the Xbox One X, and later there were suggestions that the company abandoned this idea and set its sights on a completely new console in 2026. In addition, behind-the-scenes information has emerged about the upcoming white version of the Xbox Series X without a drive, which, however, will only bring minimal improvements.
Microsoft has not commented on any of the proposed versions of its hardware. In the case of the Xbox Series X and S, development kits were certified in South Korea approximately six months before the release of the consoles.
