Last October, fans of the Commandos series received the announcement of the long-awaited new part, subtitled Origins. Now the German publishing house Kalypso Media, which owns the rights to the brand, reminds of the expected continuation with a new preview. The trailer, just over a minute long, focuses primarily on sample environment and individual mapswhere players will go into the shoes of members of the special forces.
Like Commandos: Origins remains in terms of setting, following in the footsteps of its predecessors. World War II period correct, so the focus on Europe, Scandinavia and North Africa, occupied by the German army, is not surprising. The developers previously reported that the new part will be a prequel in terms of the plot and setting of the entire series. As a bonus, the traditional campaign features offline and online cooperation for two players.
The developers from the Claymore Game studio also promise to maintain the brand’s typical emphasis on stealth and sabotage far behind enemy lines. Commando: Origins will be released later this year on PC (Steam) and PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. The game will also be available on Game Pass on release day.
