Company Saber Interactive removed from its website all references to the previous owner, a Swedish holding. Hug group. Saber removed subtitles Embracer group company from its logo and the mention of the owner from the first paragraph on the site. Instead, the introduction remains: “Sabre Interactive is an American developer and publisher of video games. It consists of more than 20 studios and more than 2,500 employees worldwide.” This suggests that the deal includes the full version of Saber, including all its studios, among which we find 3D worlds, Aspir or New World Interactive.

Bloomberg information from early March claims that the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake, which was originally developed by subsidiary Aspyr, remains at home at Sabre.

The sale of Saber is in line with Embracer’s ongoing cost reduction and debt repayment needs. The poor financial situation of the European giant has led to the closure of several studios and the layoff of hundreds of employees. Another candidate for sale is Gearbox.
