For most games, it’s completely normal to hear about the developer and publisher when they’re announced. But Nintendo is taking a rather unconventional strategy in this regard, and for some games we only know that Nintendo publishes them, but we don’t know who actually made the game. Another such game is Princess Peach: Showtime, which will be released in a few weeks.
We still don’t officially know which studio is behind this. Eurogamer editor-in-chief Tom Phillips asked Nintendo for this information and received no response. “The development team will be featured in the end credits of the game,” This was announced by a Nintendo representative.
This is not the first time something like this has happened. While for major third-party series such as Metroid Prime (Retro Studios) or Xenoblade Chronicles (Monolith Soft), the Japanese company has no problem revealing the name of the studio, this is not the case for some third-party/third-party games. Last year, something similar happened with the remake of Super Mario RPG, behind which the developers ArtePiazza are.
Luckily, we don’t have to rely solely on Nintendo in this regard, as a demo of the game was released a few days ago, and data miners were able to find information in it that Princess Peach: Showtime was created by Good-Feel. , a studio you may know as the creator of Yoshi’s Crafted World 2019. Just like back then, it looks like they’re relying on Epic’s Unreal Engine rather than any of Nintendo’s own technology.
