Kamil “Hajsmi” Heisman, Jakub “Shebby” Šebesta and Lukasz “Chuliganis” Kriz are the new EHL champions. The Knights of Kladno will present the championship trophy to their players at their home stadium in the presence of spectators.
A story that only sports, and in this case eSports, really brings. Although Pardubice entered the final as favorites and with three titles in a row, brave knights stood in their way. The three-game winning streak went all the way to a decisive Game 5 and even overtime, in which Chebby decided a game full of twists and turns for Kladno. He thus won a financial reward of 80,000 crowns for his team. Silver goes to Pardubice; in the fight for third place, Třinec Steelers beat Vitkovice with a score of 3:1.
The final day could be watched on the Twitch channel of the Esport hockey league. In the final series, Kladno player Jakub “Shabby” Shebesta played an important role, dominating all three matches. However, there was a moment in the last match when he had to show strong will: “When I was leading 4:1 in the final and Pardubice turned the score into 4:5, I thought it was all over. But luckily I equalized and settled a slightly nasty goal in overtime. Even such an ugly goal can sometimes turn out to be the most important,” said the happy scorer of the championship goal.
The losing finalist shares a financial bonus of 40,000 CZK between his players, the third team in the competition – 20,000 CZK, and a bonus of 10,000 CZK is prepared for the fourth team. The prize fund of the Esport hockey league was donated by the co-organizing agency BPA sport Marketing. “In the fifth season, we made several changes not only to the rules, but also to the general organization of the competition. In the end, we are very glad that they all showed their worth and the entire league again turned out to be of excellent quality, for which we must thank, first of all, all the gamers. The last day showed us that even esports can bring incredible stories. With this, I would like to congratulate the Kladno Knights, who, thanks to the victory, were next to Mlada Boleslav and Pardubice. No other team has ever won the Esport hockey league,” says Petr Nitsche from the organizing agency BPA sport Marketing.
