It’s no secret that the DICE studio is developing a new part of the Battlefield series. While we won’t see the game until 2025, we’re already getting some interesting speculation. Behind them is traditionally informed insider Tom Henderson, who, in his article for Insider Gaming magazine, claims that the upcoming Battlefield will accompany offline battle royale mode, which will be built on a free-to-play model and, in terms of structure and monetization, is inspired by the popular Call of Duty: Warzone. It is assumed that the Battle Royale mode will be created by the Ripple Effect studio, which also worked as a support team for the older parts of the series.
Henderson further states that the evolution of traditional regimes continues. under the leadership of Vince Zampella directly from the DICE studio, which decided in some way to return to the style of the old parts. Thus, the game requires betting on matches for a maximum of 64 players and a system of four different classes in the multiplayer field. It is reported that the destruction system will receive a more significant improvement, as mentioned earlier.
In terms of setting, the title should be based on the period between the present and the near future. This shouldn’t be missing either single player campaign, which will be dedicated to modern technologies and their use in military conflict.
