The influence of the Silent Hill franchise, and especially its second installment, on the video game industry is undeniable. However, the original game from 2001 may seem a little dated to some. Publisher Konami wanted to change the situation in 2012, and an HD remaster of the second and third parts was supposed to be released. However, inexperienced developers from Hijinx Studios. But the biggest problem was that the original source codes for the second and third parts were not preserved, so the development team had to working with incomplete code, which Konami dug up from its archives. Thus, they had to simultaneously solve problems with porting the game and simultaneously problems that had already been fixed by the original developers. Adding to all this was the issue of original voice actor James Sunderland, who refused to allow Konami to reuse his work in the remaster. The icing on the cake was Konami’s decision in the middle of development to release the port not only on the PlayStation 3, as originally planned, but also on the Xbox 360.
