The first part of the adventure horror series “Messenger of Death” exists to this day. is one of the most famous Czech games. The introductory part from the studio Beroun Future Games, released in 2003, was followed in subsequent years by two more sequels, which were already created under the auspices of the German studio Cranberry Productions. In 2017, publisher THQ Nordic tried to revive the series in the form of a full-fledged reboot called Black Mirror. But this attempt failed neither the players nor the reviewers.
Now the brand is returning to its roots. Developer and music producer Zdenek Houb, who was already involved in the creation of the first Messenger of Death, is behind the efforts to bring it back. To begin with, he launched a crowdfunding campaign on the Hithit platform, which aims to raise money from fans to remaster the music for the aforementioned first volume. The required amount of 70,000 crowns was received in a few hours, so the first goal can be considered accomplished. But Zdenek Houb said that he already has draft of a completely new part. It is assumed that this will be a prequel, the development of which will also be financed at least in part through crowdfunding.
