“We would like to have about 400 people working on the project by mid-year,” he said. This was announced to Reuters by the new CEO of CD Projekt RED, Adam Badowski, who has led the Polish company together with Michal Nowakowski since the beginning of this year. Last summer, more than 200 people worked on the new Witcher, and by the end of October there were almost 330 developers.

A release date has not been announced. Analysts expect the game to hit store shelves in 2026 or 2027. The game was called Project Polaris. the beginning of a new trilogy from this famous series set in a medieval fantasy world written by writer Andrzej Sapkowski. The first volume was released in 2007, and the original trilogy has sold over 75 million copies.

Project Orion is a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, released at the end of 2020, and after renovation and expansion of the plot, it is a very successful game. Sales exceeded 25 million copies. The second part is in pre-production, and CD Projekt RED expects to have about 80 people working on it by the end of the year. Representatives of the Polish company believe that they have learned lessons from the difficult release of Cyberpunk 2077 and now have better control over the game’s development process.

The rest of the information is so low-fat and unsalted. I’ve learned that CD Projekt RED is considering multiplayer elements for its games and is also creating a team that considers the use of artificial intelligence. Nowakowski immediately clarified that the goal is not to replace people, but to make game development more efficient.

“We believe that artificial intelligence is something that can help improve certain processes in game development, but it will not replace people.” Novakovsky added. The studio used artificial intelligence to recreate the voice of late actor Milogost Reczek (the Polish voice of Victor Vector) in Phantom Liberty with permission from his family.

In addition to these two major projects, CD Projekt RED is planning more remake of the first Witcher and several spin-offs. It’s also possible that the creators will want to make the wait for a new Witcher and more Cyberpunk more enjoyable for players with a smaller title in the style of Gwent or Blood Feud. What is certain is that the developers have switched from their own REDEngine technology to Unreal engine 5.
