Britain’s largest video games retailer will stop buying and selling used games. The change was confirmed by employees. A GAME at several local Eurogamer branches across the country. Players have until February 16, 2024 to sell/trade physical games. After that, only stock games will be sold at a discount.
GAME, like other retailers, is looking for ways to convince players to buy boxed games. Every year interest in physical versions decreases. It just sticks Nintendo Switch. PlayStation accounts for around 82% of digital sales in the UK, Xbox even more, and PC versions are virtually non-existent.
GAME, formerly owned by the Czech JRC, allows you to trade old games for new ones, and also provides store credits and gift cards. British players will only have to trade/sell CEX Network. The stock exchange is widely promoted in America GameStop and encourages people to bring used games into stores to save money and help the environment.
Given the rise in digital sales, it seems game loss warning. In the future, we may lose older games that the publisher decides to no longer support. Most recently, concerns arose after Sony wrongfully suspended PlayStation players’ accounts. They lost access to digitally purchased games for several days.
