Last September, a new part of the Counter-Strike series was released, which Valve simply called Counter-Strike 2. The game brought more modern graphics built on the Source 2 engine and replaced the previous volume with the subtitle “Global Offensive”. But what could the new Counter-Strike look like if the authors had chosen the fifth generation Unreal Engine instead of their own engine?
This question is partially answered by a community modification from an author with the nickname Pluviophile. He decided to create on Unreal Engine 5 famous map called Italy. In addition to the video attached above, you can also see some photos below. This is one of many community projects that are trying to create various famous games, or at least parts of them, based on the latest version of the Unreal Engine. However, these attempts at more than just a working game are often close to “just” technology demonstrationwhich is still the case.
