Game Challenge 2024 – Zing Begins

This is the ninth year that Games Database has hosted the Game Challenge, where your goal is to play a total of 10 games throughout the year, each of which must fall into pre-selected categories. They are then available not only in the standard version, but also in the more demanding “hardcore” version.

You can complete the challenge just for fun, but if you create an account in the game database and write a comment for each game you play as part of the challenge, you will be entered into a drawing for prizes that will be revealed gradually throughout the year. . This year’s nominations are as follows:

Classic version

1. Empire Nemo – Complete a game where at least some of the action takes place on a ship.
2. Real love – Complete a game in which you establish or develop an existing romantic relationship with another character present in the game.
3. Call of Cthulhu – Complete a game that is adapted from or inspired by Lovecraft.
4. While in Hollywood – Complete a game where one of the voice actors is a Hollywood star.
5. Never give up! – Finish the game with a character with a physical ailment.
6. Stolen Christmas – Complete a game that is at least partially set during Christmas or has a Christmas theme.
7. In the shadow of pixels – Complete a pixel art game released in 2011 or later.
8. Journey to prehistoric times – Complete a game with dinosaurs.
9. Lost in translation – Complete the game in a dub other than English, Czech and Slovak.
10. In the spotlight – Complete a game containing music while singing while playing.

Hardcore version

1. Empire Nemo – Complete a game in which you directly control a ship, submarine, or other vessel floating on or under water.
2. Real love – Complete a game in which you marry another character present in the game.
3. Call of Cthulhu – Complete a game in which you play as a member of a religious or spiritual cult or religious representative.
4. While in Hollywood – Complete the game with live actors.
5. Never give up! – Complete a game where you play as a character with a physical ailment.
6. Stolen Christmas – Complete a game that takes place at least partially during Halloween.
7. In the shadow of pixels – Complete the game in black and white style.
8. Journey to prehistoric times – Complete a game involving a mammoth, woolly rhinoceros, or saber-toothed tiger.
9. Lost in translation – Complete the game with a dub that matches your country of origin or setting (except English, Czech and Slovak).
10. In the spotlight – Complete a game that includes at least one singing performance or concert.
