Anthem only managed to sell 5 million copies

Anthem went down in gaming history primarily because it didn’t come out in the best shape. However, this did not mean that there was no interest in him at all. The game managed to sell a whopping 2 million units within a week. However, in the long term, these projects were “surprisingly” not successful at all. The game managed to sell another 3 million copies, but compared to other EA games, this was not a great achievement. Battlefield 1, for example, sold 21 million copies in its first year, while both installments in the Star Wars: Battlefront series sold a whopping 50 million copies.

Therefore, it is not surprising that few people remember about Anthem from EA. This was the first of the company’s truly problematic games. However, it is doubtful whether things would have turned out differently if, according to former BioWare employee Jan Saterdalen, the game had been created in just 15 months. Let’s hope this situation never happens again.
