The ban on the sale of both physical and digital PlayStation games is outdated. No need to panic – INDIAN

The internet is going crazy over the official PlayStation terms and conditions. They prohibit the resale of games, both on disc and digitally. However, it is not as hot here as it might seem at first glance.

The Software Terms of Use states in clause 7.1 that the sale of the game on disc or digital form is prohibited except with the express consent of Sony and, if applicable, the publisher if the game is published by another company. But the main part is devoted to commercial structures.

These terms and conditions were last updated a year ago. (in December 2022). For this reason alone I would refrain from panicking. Additionally, PlayStation support was quick to respond, adding that anyone can do whatever they want with their physical disc games, including, of course, selling them to someone else.

As you remember, market sales were carried out at the beginning of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One generation. It was Microsoft that came up with the idea to ban pre-sales of games. Sony used this strategy to its advantage, telling players in a video that on PS4 you can borrow games from friends and sell them.

On the other hand, similar information from Sony’s terms and conditions was distributed on the Internet 10 years ago. Yes, it was during the video below. So this isn’t really something that Sony has currently introduced or is going to address in any way. Just someone now he shouted and began to spread as an alarm message.
