The Alone in the Dark reimagining was announced for summer 2022, and we were originally supposed to see it in October of this year. However, in September it was postponed to January next year, and now we find out that this is not the final date. Publisher THQ Nordic announced another delay, until March 2024. The new date is specially appointed for 03/20/2024.
The reason is simply that the developers at Pieces Interactive will not be able to complete the game on time, or rather, it will require significant overtime work. “The mental well-being of our teams is a top priority and both companies want to avoid any disruption over the Christmas holiday,” the press release said.
However, this explanation is somewhat inconsistent with what was stated when the latest postponement was announced, with overcrowding at games in October cited as the main reason. So it seems that even then the problem was primarily that development was not keeping up.
Alone in the Dark will be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Free demo available on all platforms.
Together with @PiecesIntwe decided to postpone the release #Alone in the dark.
