Executioner v Hug group continues to riot. The Swedish holding was planning to close the studio New World Interactiveauthors of the tactical multiplayer action game Mutiny: Sandstormwhich has very positive user reviews on Steam.

Embracer’s move was reported by Nick Calandra, co-founder of Second Wind Group, who learned about it from his sources. The studio was supposed to close yesterday morning. This was later confirmed by a LinkedIn employee.

Fans are worried about what will happen to Insurgency: Sandstorm. The game is published by Focus Entertainment, and the studio previously laid off some of its employees.

Embracer was purchased by New World Interactive in the summer of 2020 for an undisclosed amount. The studio was to operate independently within the Saber Interactive division. They were working on some unannounced new brand. Embracer management previously warned it would cancel unannounced projects and lead to layoffs across its teams.
