Developers from the Gearbox Software studio have remained silent for a long time about their upcoming projects. The famous American team, based in the Texas city of Frisco, last brought players the third part of the Borderlands series, released in 2019, for which two spin-offs followed last year in the form of Tiny Tina’s Wonderland and New Tales from the Borderlands. It is the Borderlands brand that should play a major role in the studio’s plans for the future. This is evidenced by the updated profile of the former technical director of the Lost Boys Interactive studio, which has been falling under Gearbox since 2022.

In his LinkedIn bio, developer Randel Reiss mentions, in addition to several already released games, as yet unannounced games such as Borderland 4, Tiny Tina’s Wonderland 2 And Brothers in Arms. Developing all three of the games mentioned would make sense from Gearbox’s perspective. A full-fledged new entry in the Borderlands series will undoubtedly pique the interest of players, and from a sales perspective, it will be a win-win bet for Gearbox. The sequel to Tiny Tina’s Wonderland could be viewed in a similar way. The first part was a significant financial success, which the studio management itself called a great victory and the beginning of a completely new brand.

The mention of the Brothers in Arms brand, which has been the subject of speculation for several years, is not a surprise. Continuation between players still valued joint military action Back in 2018, Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford himself hinted. However, we have yet to see an official reveal of the new installment, so the future of the series remains in question.

We could attribute the uncertainty factor to the entire Gearbox company, which as of 2021 is owned by the Embracer Group. The Swedish publisher had to make expensive investments and, as a result, received unsatisfactory financial results. start restructuring, which led to layoffs, cancellation of ongoing projects or the closure of the famous Volition studio. It’s likely that these issues will impact Gearbox in some way. Two months ago there was even talk about the possible sale or independence of the studio. So the question is whether we’ll actually see any of the games mentioned in the foreseeable future.
