October sales in Czech game stores

Representatives of the Czech game stores Xzone and JRC, as usual, published their reviews of the best-selling games and consoles over the past month. The rating below is dedicated to the most successful products of October.

XZone

In Xzone, as expected, PS5 exclusive Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 dominated the rankings, followed on the podium by Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed: Mirage and CI Games’ soul game Lords of the Fallen. Decent sales were also recorded for such games as Scorn, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Metal Gear Solid – Master Collection Volume 1, Gotham Knights Cities: Skylines II or EA Sports UFC 5.

On the other hand, Xzone considers sales of the Total War: Pharaoh strategy to be a slight disappointment. “Almost every volume of this strategic legend has sold well in our country over the past 20 years and has always topped the charts. However, the publisher has now decided to release a physical edition just days after the digital version was released, and fans apparently couldn’t wait for the shelved box.” Jan Bobrovsky, head of marketing at Xzone, clarifies the situation around the new Total War

From the point of view of game consoles, there were no significant surprises. The PlayStation 5 remained in first place in the mechanical version, followed by the Nintendo Switch and the digital version of the fifth PlayStation.

“Once again, there have been no shocking changes on consoles and PS5 remains firmly at the top of the charts. There will almost certainly be no changes this year, and the PlayStation 5 will be the biggest console hit of Christmas.” by Xzone.

Also on the JRC list, Insomniac’s new Spider-Man topped the list, with Assassin’s Creed: Mirage coming in second. However, in the JRC, sports games in the form of EA Sports FC 24, NHL 24 and FIFA 23 were more successful, finishing third, fourth and sixth. At the same time, the fifth GTA V was able to wedge itself among this sports shamrock. Super Mario Bros. games also entered the top ten. Wonder, Hogwarts Legacy, Fallen Lords and Diablo IV.

“EA’s sports games have long been popular. A small surprise for us is that the game from last year continues to be a strong performer, that is FIFA 23.” Petr Kratochvil from JRC highlights the success of sports titles.
