It’s been over a year since development footage was posted online. Grand Craft Auto 6. Thanks to many videos, we have learned interesting details about the expected gangster action, but at least one thing has eluded attention until now.
A patent was recently discovered Procedural movement, designed to highlight the use of modern animation and motion systems in future Rockstar Games titles. It is connected with a recent discovery in the form of a debug menu in files from a leak from September last year.
According to the patent and debug menu, GTA 6 should contain technology that makes them characters look and feel much more realistic. Movements and animations should be much more varied, and characters will react to any situation, such as rain.
The debug menu shows that NPC characters are supposed to be affected by emotions.. This applies to behavior, facial expressions and movements themselves. In addition, NPC characters should be able to adapt to the player’s actions, which can be interesting not only in shootouts. The AI is supposed to remember the player’s actions and make decisions accordingly. It is expected that a system related to gangs, alliances or conflicts will also use these new technologies. The game world must also respond to the player’s actions, that is, the environment, which can also change as the story progresses.
Animals that are said to be tamed should also behave more realistically. Although in this case it could very well be a relic from Red Dead Redemption 2.
This all sounds very interesting. If anyone can pull this off, it’s Rockstar with a de facto unlimited budget. Hopefully we won’t have to wait long for GTA 6 to be announced. The game is expected to release sometime between March 2024 and March 2025.
