Chinese publisher NetEase founded a new studio Fantastic pixel castle. He was at the head of the team Greg Street with years of experience at Ensemble Studios, Blizzard and Riot Games and working on Age of Empires III, World of Warcraft or League of Legends as a lead designer.
He recruited a number of former colleagues from the aforementioned studies to join the team. Fantastic Pixel Castle will be based on working from home. He also strongly wants to involve the community in the development.
The studio will work on a fantasy MMORPG called Ghost. “MMOs are probably one of the most challenging gaming genres, but we have some big advantages. We are a fully remote studio, which allows us to hire the best game developers, and we plan to stay small so we can make design changes quickly,” says Street.
This is after Tencent NetEase second significantly expanding Chinese company. He bought it last year Quantum Dreamstudio in January this year Skybox Laboratories, which helps Microsoft develop Halo or Minecraft. This year he founded, among other things, the studio PinCoolled by Dragon Quest producer Rijutaro Ichimura.
