Skyrim: Skeletons now have a face thanks to Ancestral Whispers’ facial reconstruction

A member of the Ancestral Whispers skull reconstruction team shared a new project from the team: facial reconstruction someone’s Skyrim skeleton. The creator of this polygonal pattern commented on what he had created, revealing that this was exactly the look he had in mind.

Exactly, as you can see below, Ancestral Whispers Twitter user Sullamakh He shared a “facial reconstruction of an ancient Atmoran from Saarthal dating to the late Meretich period”. While it may sound like a set of scientific terms, it’s actually the terminology from The Elder Scrolls. It is exactly, as stated, a reconstruction of a Skyrim skeleton.

The tweet was later spotted Jonah Lobe, skeleton designer by Skyrim. Lobe said, “You did a great job with the rebuilding. I wanted them to look like a rogue, with thick jaws, thick eyebrows and a kind of Neanderthal look.

“I wanted them to look spooky as they would attack the player but not with those evil eyes you see in so many fantasy skeletons. For me, the answer was to mark the eyebrows and wear the big teeth in general. I wanted massive”.

This atmoran they are an ancient Elder Scrolls race considered to be the ancestors of the Nords at the center of the Skyrim story.

Finally, if you intend to play Skyrim again on the Steam Deck, we remind you that not all versions are compatible.
