Iron News #18 – RayTracing for Macbooks and genius fans from ASUS

Have you ever wondered how great it would be to play on a Mac? If not, then you belong to the absolute majority. However, it may become increasingly common. Apple showed off the M3 chip at a press conference, and gamers are interested in the emphasis on the graphics part. In addition to faster performance, Apple added hardware ray tracing, which we’ve had for several years now, as well as mesh shading, which is a much older problem. Dynamic cache allocation is also interesting. The ARM architecture remains, prices are also high. More details, including prices and surprises at the end, can be found in the article.

Besides Apple, we at PCTuning have reviewed two pieces of hardware. One of them is the RTX 4070 in the Asus TUF Gaming GF design. An almost perfect cooler, perhaps a bit overkill for this model. There is simply nothing to improve.

Asus has done this for the second time, this time for a component connected to the processor. We tested the ROG Ryujin III 360 ARGB for hot cooling and were impressed with the fan design, especially the fan connections. Simple, no extra wiring. If this were standard across all manufacturers, we certainly wouldn’t be angry.

Among the new products, we highlight the new Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold. It’s a hybrid laptop and tablet that can be folded in half. But for such a unique thing you will pay extra. We are constantly annoyed by YouTube, which insists on blocking ads. They say you have to buy premium. Western Digital bought the SSD company to spin it off after seven years. Finally, we have Windows 11, which is only 2 GB in size.
