Quantum error is truly unique. At first glance, an inconspicuous sci-fi shooter from the small studio Teamkill Media, debuting under this name. And although many such games have been released, this one has attracted a lot of attention. Cause? Very inconsistent marketing, full of claims about how the game is made for PS5 (even though it is a multi-platform game, it is assumed that the console will only be exclusive for a while) and the SSD on Xbox Series consoles is too slow (as it turned out) out, the developers apparently had no idea about DirectStorage technology). And this despite the fact that until July of this year, a version for the PlayStation 4, which only has a significantly slower HDD, was officially in preparation. There were a lot of all kinds of statements and we devoted a separate article to this.

But how did the game turn out? Well, in short, not very good. There are only 8 reviews on Metacritic so far, and the average score is 46 out of 100. The highest score is 6 out of 10, and the lowest is 2.5 out of 10. Reviewers criticize almost everything – from gameplay to visuals (although the developers boasted about using Unreal Engin 5 ), plot, sound system, controls or technical condition. YouTuber DreamcastGuy called Quantum Error the worst PS5 game he’s ever played. He criticizes the massive number of bugs, the confusing plot and cutscenes (which are said to make up almost half the game), or the graphics, which rely heavily on purchased assets.
The developers don’t seem to care much about criticism. “We’re proud of our game and actually take all the criticism as a compliment because we’re being compared to budget AAA games when we’re clearly a low budget indie game, which creates limitations,” he states on Twitter. This is a really small studio, the team seems to consist of 4 people. But players don’t like that the size of the team and the small budget are not reflected at all in the price, which is set at a whopping 60 euros.
Quantum Error is available now, although it will officially release on November 2nd.
We’re proud of our game and actually take all criticism as a compliment to be measured against budget AAA games, even though we’re clearly an indie game with a small budget, which creates limitations. For everyone who scolds us on social networks or rejoices in being scolded, this will not stop us and…
