A few days have passed since the release of Alan Wake 2. The developers can rest a little, although, of course, they will have to work on patches and post-release content, including two paid DLCs. But what doesn’t stop is interviews, and Remedy creative director Sam Lake gave one to GQ magazine.
The interview is quite tedious, but perhaps the most interesting thing is the conclusion itself. In it, Lake answers whether he would ever do something a little different. “Yes. I still think I’ll do it,” he says. He says there are stories he’s always wanted to tell but hasn’t had the chance to tell yet:
“One of them was this crazy, big-budget, dark gothic fantasy that I still hadn’t used…” Compared to Remedy’s previous projects, going into fantasy would be a real departure, although their games do contain a supernatural element. .
It’s hard to say whether Lake’s idea will actually be made into a video game in the future, but if so, we’ll have to wait a long time. Remedy currently has several games in development: Condor (a multiplayer spin-off of Control), Control 2, a remake of the first two Max Payne games, and Vanguard (a free-to-play co-op PvE shooter). . All projects are currently at the proof of concept stage.
