Bethesda representatives have recently confirmed several times that players will have to wait a few more years for the sixth installment in The Elder Scrolls series. At the same time, to officially announce the game already happened in 2018. However, it is clear that at that time its development was at a very early stage and the developers had nothing to show except a short CGI teaser.
He questioned the early announcement of the game in an interview with the MinnMax channel Skyrim Lead Designer Bruce Nesmith, who meanwhile left Bethesda. According to the former developer, he doesn’t think it’s a good idea to announce games years before they’re released because the gaming industry as a whole has a short memory.
According to Nesmith, Bethesda CEO Todd Howard shares the same opinion. But in the case of The Elder Scrolls 6 there had to be a company pressure for speedy disclosure of information by the players themselves, who constantly asked the developers about continuing the series. Nesmith also noted that he is quite confident that details about the new The Elder Scrolls will become known to players only 6 months before its release.
