Everyone has at least once experienced that unique moment when you watch trailers for a particular game several times a month, just to learn new details. However, this could mean two things. Either you’re really looking forward to the game, or you’ve been so disappointed lately that you’re now looking for any evidence that the next installment will be different. I have already reviewed four major publications in the editorial office and played about 12 of them outside of work. And that’s not counting EA’s former competitive series NBA Live, the original Jam, or the Playgrounds spinoffs. So I’m not afraid to say that I not only have experience in basketball games, but also relationships with them. And this year, more than ever, I experienced the predicted moment when I reanalyzed the trailers and all the news about NBA 2K24. Since I ended last year’s review with the words “if this continues, the number of referrals will decline every year”, it can be more than clear that this was the worst option. But the new part is dedicated to Kobe, contains absolutely perfect animation, corrected several errors in the online mode and added cross-play. So can we celebrate? I want… because there is less positive in the game than in new ways to get extra money out of you.
NBA 2K24 is a sports game based on America’s Major League Basketball League. The success of the series has surpassed that of EA, so 2K has less of a monopoly on basketball games. Largely thanks to the Playgrounds series. The NBA 2K brand is characterized by great player models, unrivaled commentary and presentation, great game mechanics, but unfortunately also an annual barrage of microtransactions. Starting in 2021, the game will also bring a true next-gen experience, but not for PC players, which will continue this year. If you want to play the game on PC, you’ll be playing a stripped-down version running on an older engine. This version is almost identical to the version for PS4 and Xbox One. This is also one of the reasons why the game currently has one of the worst ratings on Steam. It can be seen that the developers only care about the version for PS5 and Xbox Series, as evidenced by the addition of cross-play. Finally.
So if you are planning to buy a new part, we recommend only these versions. Otherwise, NBA 2K19, one of the best editions for previous generations and PC, will be enough for you. But now the question is whether we recommend the game as such at all. Let’s start with the good news first so we can have some joy.

As such, the series was very good and players, especially the most famous ones, often had their own unique animations. But they often didn’t connect well with each other, and the movements seemed choppy and jerky.
