Yesterday we finally learned about the HW requirements for Survival Horror Alan Wake 2, which surprised many players as they are quite high. The graphic only mentions GeForce RTX 20 series or Radeon RX 6000 series graphics cards and above, we now learn that this is not entirely a coincidence. One of the Twitter developers she showedthat the list of supported video cards will be relatively limited.

User newincpp specifically claims that the game uses mesh shaders, which is a feature of the DirectX 12 Ultimate API. This is only supported on RTX 20/RX 6000 series cards and above. The developer adds that for the old graphics they implemented a different technique, the so-called vertex shaders, but with which there were big problems in terms of performance and errors, so this method will not be officially supported in the end. So, if you have an older graphics card and plan to play this game, you will have to take into account that the game may not run perfectly, if at all.

Alan Wake 2 will be released on October 27 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
