The tactical turn-based game Inkbound, released in May, is a great example of how game monetization is an ongoing topic for the community, but one that isn’t always as readily embraced. In this case, the studio, like the creators of other similar customized projects, finally decided to get rid of microtransactions in their work. They will turn the current system into a voluntary DLC, with which you will have the opportunity to support the work of the authors of this article. The path is definitely the right one, so hopefully other companies will follow in the footsteps of these creators and try to implement monetization into their works as much as possible.
All microtransactions will be removed from Inkbound on October 27th. You can read more about this step here. The game is currently available on PC in Early Access. It should remain at this stage of development for at least the next two years.
New information on what to expect from Inkbound’s next major update, coming October 27, 2023. The full announcement on Steam can be read here: https://t.co/3ePLmF7WjL
