As part of the Tokyo Game Show, Bloomberg had the opportunity to interview Capcom Chief Operating Officer Haruhiro Tsujimoto. And since we live in a time when many game companies are being bought up by larger companies, a question was asked on this topic.

Bloomberg’s editor specifically asked whether Capcom would accept Microsoft’s potential offer. Tsujimoto responded quite clearly, saying that he would “politely decline” her. He said he would prefer the two companies to be equal partners. His message also rings true: he adds that Capcom has no plans to buy other studios. He would rather focus on external partners and organic growth of the company.

At the same time, the interview mentions that Capcom wants to sell 100 million copies of its games annually. And while he still calls PC his primary platform, Tsujimoto wants to focus more on mobile ports of AAA games in the future, which should contribute significantly to the overall number. Already this year we will see the conversion of the games Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 4 Remake to the iPhone 15 Pro, Capcom highly appreciates the cooperation with Apple in this regard.

At the same time, Tsujimoto says the company plans to focus more on the Indian market, which he says will surpass China’s profits over the next decade. He sees great potential here in the release of mobile ports.
