Cult of the Lamb is one of the successful independent projects that demonstrates that the Unity engine makes it possible to create truly interesting works. However, for some time it seemed that the game would not demonstrate the capabilities of this “drive” for a long time. The studio behind the title said it is considering withdrawing it from sale on January 1, 2024. According to initial statements, the reason for this step was a recent statement by Unity Technologies, which in its first interpretation proceeded from the fact that it would like to charge developers a commission for each installation of a game using the Unity engine. The company eventually revised the idea and stated that it only applied to the first installation.
However, a large number of developers still have a very negative attitude towards this and protest in some way. However, in the case of the game studio behind Cult of the Lamb, according to various sources, the reality is different from what was initially presented, since, according to them, it was just a joke, thanks to which a significant percentage of players were attracted to the project . The community is not happy with this joke. Just as he undoubtedly caused dissatisfaction with Unity Technologies, for which he was certainly a sore point. What’s certain, at least for now, is that you’ll be able to buy Cult of the Lamb in the coming months on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
Buy Cult of the Lamb now because we’ll be removing it on January 1st. 😘 https://t.co/nSWg9DP0sh
