Bethesda partnered with AMD for the space RPG Starfield, and it was decided early on whether the game would receive support for Nvidia’s DLSS or Intel’s XeSS upscaling technologies. When it was released, it turned out that it did not survive, but a few hours after the release, a modification became available with which you can replace the FSR with one of these technologies. However, soon there will be no need to do this unofficially. Just a few days after the arrival of DLSS for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, namely Bethesda she announcedthat he is working on a DLSS implementation for Starfield.
Unfortunately, we still don’t know exactly when it will appear or how extensive the implementation will be. Bethesda hasn’t specified whether we’ll only see scaling or image generation. However, due to the lack of FSR 3, it bears little resemblance to the second technology mentioned. In addition to DLSS, PC gamers can also look forward to support for ultra-wide monitors with a 32:9 aspect ratio.
In the future, all versions will have brightness and contrast settings, an FOV slider, HDR calibration or… a food button. These are all things that Bethesda considers a priority and will be part of future updates. The first one was released today, but only contains bug fixes. The developers also promise to work closely with Nvidia, AMD and Intel to fine-tune driver support and improve performance and stability.
Finally, Bethesda adds that it’s working on built-in mod support called Creations, which will work across all platforms and should be similar to what’s found in Skyrim or Fallout 4. It should arrive early next year.
Firstly, a huge thank you to everyone who plays Starfield and for your support. We’re absolutely blown away by the response and everything you love about the game. We also read your wonderful feedback on what you would like to improve or add to the game. This is a game in which we will…
