On Thursday evening, the first Horror Game Awards took place, organized by Feardemic, publisher of the Polish studio Bloober Team, in collaboration with IGN magazine, which broadcast the entire show. The awards were presented for the previous year, and not for the calendar year, which has not yet ended, so last year’s titles also appeared here. There were 14 categories in total, and in 13 of them the winner was chosen by the public by voting on nominations pre-selected by the jury.

It won the main Horror Game of the Year category. Remake of Resident Evil 4. Capcom received the most awards overall, with the remake of the fourth installment in the Resident Evil series also receiving the best character category (Leon S. Kennedy), Best Game Design, Best Soundtrack and Best Acting (Nick Apostolides like Leon S. Kennedy). Abode of the Evil Village it then won the award for best VR horror game.

He received a lifetime contribution award (which was selected by the jury as the only spectator). Mikael Hedberg, who wrote the story for Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Soma, also contributed to Amnesia: Rebirth. He is currently working on a story for a reimagining of Alone in the Dark.

The indie game achieved two successes at once. You’ve given the signal, which won awards for Best Indie Horror and Best Story. Games received one award Dead Space remake for the best audio design, Outlast Challenges for Best Multiplayer Horror Game and Contempt for the best artistic design. The award for best horror trailer went to Bloober Team. remake of Silent Hill 2 and Best Horror Content Creator went to Susie aka Orb Hunter.
