Developers from the Polish studio The Astronauts, whose developers have previously contributed to games such as Bulletstorm, Painkiller or The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, are now completing the Witchfire action, which has been in development for a long time. We recently learned that the game will be released September 20 in the early access program on the Epic Games Store. It was the Epic Games store that entered into an exclusive partnership with the developers.
The creative director of the game, Adrian Chmielartz, recently announced in the FAQ section of the official website that the contract with Epic was closed for one year. Subsequently, Chmielartz confirmed that the game should be released to other platforms soon after, led by Steam.
In the future, the authors would like the game also render on console. Witchfire is supposed to be inspired by the said games Bulletstorm and Painkiller in terms of gameplay. As part of the structure of the game world, the authors during development agreed on the transition from closed arenas to a semi-open world. For this reason, the development was delayed for some time.
