Fans of construction and military strategies will be able to spend long winter evenings in Pioneers of Pagonia. This picturesque game is being prepared by The Settlers creator Volker Wertich and his team at Envision Entertainment.
It was recently announced that the game will be released in Early Access on Steam on December 13 this year. It will be even earlier demo version available to everyone. But only after a promising project passes the alpha version stage. This is scheduled for September and will be available to selected subscribers of the studio’s newsletter. A public demo will be released shortly before the October Steam Next Fest.
We got to know Pioneers of Pagonia in more detail in June, when we were able to see the first gameplay footage (video below). The name promises return to classic city building. We will discover and explore the mythical islands of Pagonia and forge alliances with many of the locals. More attention is paid to the exploration of these tropical islands and, of course, the construction of the village.
Wertich describes the play as best simulator name. Islands will be procedurally generated. Your settlers will have to work hard, pounding stones and picking berries. But you have to watch your opponents.
Early Access will feature 40 building types, over 70 item types with complex production chains, and procedurally generated maps for endless fun. When everything goes smoothly the game should reach version 1.0 in about six months. During this time, it should be enriched with a cooperative mode, new buildings, additional production chains and of course the technical side and so on will be improved based on community feedback.
Volker Wertich worked on the first three installments of The Settlers series, then SpellForce, and finally Command & Conquer: Tiberium Alliances. Now, according to him, he is preparing for the title of his dreams.
