Vonderhaar became especially famous for the sub-series Black Ops, for which he led the development of various campaigns, multiplayer modes and systems. What’s important to Call of Duty fans is that it may stay in the gaming industry. He is working on some new projectabout which he cannot yet speak.

As he left the Treyarch studio, Vonderhaar thanked his colleagues for the time they spent perfecting their craft. “We have never sat on our backs and are always thinking about how to improve what we invent and how we create it.” he added, also thanking the large Call of Duty community.

Treyarch said in a statement that they are saying goodbye to the legendary David Vonderhaar, whose discipline, creativity and innovation helped create games from COD 2: Big Red One to Black Ops Cold War. “His iconic phrases and groundbreaking ideas will be missed.” declared Studio.

Recently, Chinese companies such as NetEase Games and Tencent have been able to win over more experienced producers and developers by giving them money to build an entirely new studio. It is possible that the same is the case with Vonderhaar. I’m sure we’ll find out soon what he’s up to.
