Last week I introduced you to the Assassins Creed: Valhalla – Orlog dice game as part of a review. This week I have another Assassin’s Creed game for you. But now it’s Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood of Venice story co-op. The following paragraphs will tell you what the band wants to bring in and how it differs from, for example, the relatively similarly tuned Zombicide.

Venice welcomes you in all its glory in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood of Venice
As the name suggests, your destination in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood of Venice will be Venice, where you will work alongside your brothers in an attempt to pull off various insidious acts. You know, the Assassins are not exactly a bunch of good-hearted people and they have a task that they simply must complete at any cost. The setting they get into is very beautifully designed, as is the story where you’re trying to survive in a city that doesn’t like guys like you. However, the tasks are varied, so you will never be bored. Once you have to steal the contents of two chests, and another time to stop the onslaught of enemies.
As in competitive games, here you also have at your disposal a variety of characters with distinctive looks and abilities. Yes, without heroes who have different disciplines, everything would be different. More precisely, you are offered a quartet of heroes that you need to get used to. That is, of course, if you want to succeed. For example, Alessandra is interesting. She can re-roll one of her attack dice once per round in case her lunge just doesn’t work, and I must say it has saved my life sometimes. Claudio wasn’t bad either, he could use the blade once per round in the basic version without spending action points. Then they all go through additional stages of development, which make them more powerful killers.
Stealth is all about
Silence plays a very important role in this work. As in the PC games, in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood of Venice the Assassins are not great warriors. Well, of course, they are capable of fighting, but if defeated, they can quickly send them to hell. Therefore, you will bet on silent progress, because if the enemies do not detect you, they will not come after you, although they will move around the map. Until the alarm is triggered (almost inevitable), you must always roll dice when “encountering” enemies in order to pass the detection test. The number of dice is determined by the number of opponents. And if you fail, an alarm will go off that will turn your boys and girls into hunting animals, just like in Zombicide.
Under normal conditions, enemies appear on the map, but their number is not so large. But once you have the alarm, it leads to a rapid increase in the number of enemies on the map. I’m not afraid to say that there are quite traditional stages here. In the first, enemy reinforcements will appear, after which the enemy will move. They move in the direction determined by events outside the alarm. But once they know where you are, you become their main target. So, to be more precise, the revealed character.
The capture is followed by a fight in which both shooters and melee fighters attack. You always count the number of enemies on the field, and then roll the appropriate number of dice. If there are several assassins on the same field, the rolled dice can be divided between the pair by agreement. You can try to run away from enemies in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood of Venice. Half of them will always haunt you. The most interesting thing about this whole situation is that the opponents can be shaken off by bringing them to another assassin. Because if it fails the detection test, it sticks to it and your character can perform well. The equipment can also provide you with the same service. For example, such a chimney can again hide you in the “shadow”.
However, the situation does not have to end with your escape in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood of Venice. If you are lucky and have enough lives, you can easily deal with enemies. All bodies can then be hidden using the find and hide action. You can mine equipment from your victims, which you can either keep or discard on the discard pile. There are many heads here. Apart from the regular shooters, you also face armored warriors and bosses, which are a decent challenge. After completing the entire event, you head to the base, which is essentially the place where your killers heal, produce items, and trade. In this part of the game, the campaign can also be saved so that you do not lose your well-developed heroes and can always continue beautifully from the last point of your quest.
Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood of Venice tries to stick to a rudimentary brand idea
After completing the campaign of Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood of Venice, I have to say that this title is in many ways close to Zombicide and similar games, but retains the DNA of the Assassin’s Creed brand. What does this mean in practice? The reality is that while in other places you will fight your way through the crowd, here you try to spend as much time as possible in the shadows, where you observe what is happening around you. The assortment of enemies is varied, and in the final, the fact that cardboard figures are available instead of models did not bother me.
I really liked the high consistency overall combined with the range of options to enjoy this piece. It is also necessary to evaluate the processing of game maps, which take place not only on the ground, but also make it possible to aim at buildings, their roofs and a number of other interesting places. Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood of Venice was a pleasant surprise because I was expecting a bigger mess. In the end, it looks like I’ll play at least one more game on the streets of Venice with my friends.
