Do you still remember how in some old RPGs you could go through the entire game without actually killing anyone sentient? This is exactly what Starfield won’t let you do. This was stated by Will Shen during one of the Q&A. Bethesda did consider supporting pacifist playthrough, but in the end, according to him, came to the conclusion that it was unrealistic to fully realize this idea. However, according to Shen, there will be a lot of talk, so some situations can be resolved without having to reach for a weapon. How difficult the conversations will be is the question.
Let’s hope that their depth will be the same as in the case of Baldur’s Gate 3, where with the help of dialogue you can drive opponents to suicide or eliminate their comrades. You’ll see for yourself how challenging Starfield will be in this regard when the game launches on PC and Xbox Series X/S on September 6th.
Starfield isn’t designed to be completely non-lethal, but you can solve a lot of problems without getting killed, says Bethesda. https://t.co/fVkfbyMFxU
