The Czech News Center (CNC) is launching a new gaming brand, Poggers. Basically, he wants to unite Gen Z and Alpha gaming enthusiasts around a content website, social media, and community events. It should appeal mainly to an active community and up-to-date content that is not on the market.
Poggers means the excitement or joy of playing haggling. This is what the new brand team at CNC wants to evoke in the gaming community and related pop cultures through their content and related activities. “We have been missing youth gaming content on the Czech scene for a long time. We wanted to complement classic game or console reviews with more relevant topics, whether it’s mobile gaming, VR gaming, or the connection between gaming and AI. So we decided to create a new community. Poggers isn’t just about one-way communication, it’s about engaging players or fans in the game and an interactive behind-the-scenes look. Either in the form of adding their own content, or perhaps improving their gaming skills together, primarily with the help of various modern analytical or AI tools.”, describes the idea Michal Malyarovwhich is known in the gaming scene mainly due to the co-founding of the gaming portal Zing.cz and to Poggers holds the position of editor-in-chief.
The authors describe the project as “players for players”, in addition to youthful content for players, they also want to add related themes from the field of cinema, comics or even technology. They should also differ in form, as far as the target group is concerned, the main goal is to lay the foundations of video content in social networks (primarily IG coils, tik tak and YouTube Shorts) or directly on the website. Equally important is the vibrant Discord community that the team wants to involve in the editorial process.
“We also want to stand out graphically, with clean and modern visuals and an interesting logo that, by the way, contains the acronym gg which is an acronym for a good game or gamepad silhouette. When creating a corporate identity, we followed modern trends and allowed ourselves to be guided by technologies, for example and team avatars we created with AI. It should also reflect our way of thinking about the project and attract people who see it the same way.” adds Malyarov.
Among other things, the Czech News Center has historically been part of the national eSports league. Involvement in esports has led to a desire to focus more on the potential of gaming fans in content through the Poggers brand. Her team is expected to become the epicenter of gaming content, which will also appear in the communication channels of other media brands.
“The Poggers project has the ambition to be a set of gaming themes for other, more traditional brands such as Blesk, Reflex, E15, auto-weby and more. The goal is to help rejuvenate the readership of these titles. This will give partners the opportunity to reach even the hard-to-reach younger generation of gamers who already consume content primarily through social media. We are preparing many opportunities for collaboration, from classic display formats to the production of video game content or events to various bespoke campaigns.” explains Julian Tranhead of eGaming at the Czech News Center.
