The PC port of the original PS5-exclusive Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is out tomorrow. The developers of this conversion, Nixxes, have published a detailed list of graphics settings. Classic elements such as texture and shadow quality, ambient occlusion, multiple scaling methods, and more are waiting for you. However, ray tracing is also an important part. This was already implemented in the PS5 version for reflections, but on PC you can also enable it for shadows and the aforementioned diffuse shading. That is, if you have an Nvidia graphics card.
Even when the HW table was posted, there were no GPU requirements from AMD for ray-traced settings. The developers then wrote that they would supplement the specifications later. However, we have now learned that you will not be able to enable ray tracing on AMD graphics cards at all on release day. Unfortunately, the authors did not share exactly why this does not work at the moment. Perhaps they encountered some unexpected error that needs to be fixed. It says that they are now working closely with AMD on a fix to get support as soon as possible. So let’s hope it works.
