The Czech video game industry is strengthening ties with Japan. Association of Czech Game Developers (GDA) succeeded in signing a cooperation document with the Japan Computer Entertainment Suppliers Association (CESA). This happened on June 13 this year in the premises of the Czech Embassy in Tokyo in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Ivan Bartos.
“The purpose of this official agreement is to strengthen ties between Czech and Japanese game developers, support the mutual exchange of information, knowledge, experience and establish new contacts”, It is reported by the GDA.
Japan is among the world leaders in the field of video games. Pavel Barak from GDA would like to attract new companies, publishers or investors to the Czech Republic, as well as export Czech companies to the Tokyo Game Show next year.. Meanwhile, Japanese colleagues received an invitation to the Game Developers Session conference, which will be held in December in Prague.
“We would like to attract companies that are either planning to expand in the Central European region, or are investors or publishers who would be interested in Czech games in terms of investment, or finance the completion of the development of the game and its release,” Barack added.
“In Japan, where video games were mostly invented, the gaming market is worth 2.1 trillion yen. We can’t catch up, but the turnover of 7.5 billion crowns in the Czech Republic is also not bad. That is why Pavel Barak, Chairman of the Association of Czech Game Developers, and Zdeněk Ledvina, Head of eSports at Charles University, came to Japan with me.” Deputy Prime Minister for Digitalization and Minister of Regional Development Ivan Bartosh summed up the trip on his Twitter account.
