In recent days, Diablo 4 has faced some pretty harsh but well-deserved criticism. It’s clear to Blizzard that the latest update didn’t go as well as the company intended. The original idea was to slow it down and increase the fun, but that and sometimes the development went in a completely different direction, so that instead of praise, the company received a bunch of dissatisfied reviews.
Luckily, the studio decided to face the situation head-on. Therefore, judging by the information from the live stream, players will soon see changes aimed at minimizing the problematic factors of the new patch. Elixir pool size, enemy density in Nightmare dungeons, or buffs for underutilized wizard and barbarian legendary aspects should be increased. However, these changes are just the beginning.
In two weeks, players will receive a really big update, which, however, is not intended to erase the changes made by patch 1.1. Thus, in practice 1.1.1. some factors will not change, for example, nothing is said about changes to the massive buff of the Devouring Flame of the Wizard. However, for sure Uber Uniques will drop more often, item filters and many other factors should also be improved. The specification of some novelties is yet to come.
However, the creators promise that the situation will not repeat itself in the long term, that such a fundamental balance patch will be released again, and the community will not know its content in detail. However, at least according to some posts on Reddit, the community doesn’t have much faith in these promises, as the current patch has significantly damaged their faith in Blizzard. So let’s see if the company manages to keep current promises and not repeat the current stumbles.
#DiabloIV leads Joe Shelley, Joseph Piepiora, and Adam Fletcher spoke in detail about the latest patch, including why these changes were made and how fixes will be handled going forward.
