In February of this year, Nintendo pleasantly surprised gamers by announcing and immediately releasing a remaster of Metroid Prime for the Nintendo Switch, the original game released in 2002 on the Nintendo GameCube. However, there has long been talk of the entire trilogy getting an improved version in preparation for the upcoming fourth installment. And a remaster of those two games, which is subtitled Echoes and was originally released in 2004, might be around the corner.
Renowned gaming journalist Jeff Grubb stated on the Last of the Nintendogs podcast that Metroid Prime 2 Remastered would be released “relatively soon”, though he did not specify a month. For example, will we see an announcement in the ONL or in a potential September Direct? We will have to wait for this.
In addition to Metroid, Grubb also talked about The Legend of Zelda series. This year we have “something new” that has nothing to do with Tears of the Kingdom. For example, there are suggestions about remasters of old parts. Even Grubb has no idea what it’s all about.
