When it comes to the Resident Evil series and horror brands in general, there’s often an insider dubbed Dusk Golem behind the (mostly true) leaks, and this time is no different. On Discord, another leader, Snitch, talked about upcoming projects.
He specifically mentions that Resident Evil 9, which should be codenamed Apocalypse, will release in 2025 after several internal delays. We know from Capcom’s massive 2020 leak that the game was supposed to come out later this year. But Dusk Golem has already said that the ninth part has by far the longest development and the biggest ambitions of all RE games, while it should close the current story in many ways, so there is speculation about saying goodbye to the original heroes.
Of course, RE9 isn’t the only project Capcom is working on. Dusk Golem goes on to talk about a major game that will be announced later this year and released in the fall of 2024. For example, we are talking about the new part of the popular Monster Hunter series.
Finally, Dusk Golmer mentions that another horror game remake is on the way, which he is very excited about. However, he only clarified that it’s not the Phantom Land, so it could be pretty much anything. They say we won’t see a release until early 2026.
