A month ago, we saw an open-world introduction of Star Wars Outlaws from Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment. Although the release of the game is scheduled no earlier than next year, the developers are already gradually giving us interesting information. In an interview with Edge magazine, the game’s creative director Julian Gerity recently talked about the shape of the game world, which will be made up of several different planets. Gerity confirmed that all planets will be created manually. So we won’t see more use of Starfield-style procedural generation in Star Wars Outlaws.
In doing so, we learned that the size of individual planets would be comparable to the area of two or three regions in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. The developers also announced that landing and takeoff zones will be established on each planet. However, on the planet itself, you will move exclusively on the ground. Various modes of transport should be available. According to Gerity, the discovery of each planet imagine a unique journey full of different tasks and free exploration.
Star Wars Outlaws will release next year on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
