The UK’s biggest PlayStation team has big ambitions. Firesprite Studio moved to new luxury premises in the center of Liverpool two years after the acquisition by Sony, which has been transformed into a state-of-the-art studio. It is equipped according to the needs and tastes of the team.
The new offices, housed in a 19th-century building (formerly used as a library, museum or editorial office), aim to enable Firesprite to become one of the leading and most creative studios in the PlayStation family.
Firesprite employs over 250 people.who can work both in a new building and from home. Last year, in collaboration with Guerrilla Games, they created Horizon Call of the Mountain for PlyStation VR2 and vacancies now preparing a survival horror game built on Unreal Engine 5 for PS5 and PC. It is supposed to be called Project Heartbreak and should be AAA.
The Firesprite studio was founded in 2012 and is made up of people who have worked on Psygnosis (the Wipeout series). The team has worked with Sony since the beginning, creating The Playroom (2013), Run Sackboy! Run! (2014), The Playroom VR (2016), Special Ops Air Force: Nightfall (2017), The Persistence (2018 and 2020) and Horizon Call of the Mountain (2023).
